Team Outlook
Caldwell  - Coach Rick Cobia (23-29-0) at Caldwell and (23-29-0) Overall, Offense (Wing T), Defense (Split), returns 18 letterman 10 offensive 7 defensive starters with 8 letterman lost from a (7-4) 3A Div. I Bi-district playoff team.  Overall Strength (offense), Strengths on offense (quarterback, running back, offensive line, kicker), Strengths on defense (defensive line, defensive back, punter).  Notes from the Coach: Our offense has 10 veterans returning, our running backs are deep.  QB has great speed and good arm strength.  The offensive line is very quick and had a great spring.  The defense has enough veterans to make a statement with the line being the strong point.  Our kicker will be seeing his third year on varsity.
Cameron Yoe  - Coach Mike Mullins (1-9-0) at Cameron Yoe and (41-41-1) Overall, Offense (Shotgun), Defense (Split), returns 23 letterman 10 offensive 10 defensive starters with 5 letterman lost from a (1-9) team.  Overall Strength (defense), Strengths on offense (quarterback, receiver), Strengths on defense (defensive line, cornerback, defensive back).  Notes from the Coach: We are more experienced and expect to be stronger on both sides of the ball.
Giddings  - Coach Derek Fitchenry (7-4-0) at Giddings and (7-4-0) Overall, returns 9 letterman 2 offensive 1 defensive starters with 24 letterman lost from a (7-4) 3A Div. II Bi-district playoff team.
Hutto  - Coach Lee Pendland (27-35-0) at Hutto and (27-35-0) Overall, returns 20 letterman 9 offensive 5 defensive starters with 10 letterman lost from a (6-4) team.
La Grange  - Coach Tony Valastro (88-34-1) at La Grange and (88-34-1) Overall, Offense (Triple I Option), Defense (Split), returns 23 letterman 6 offensive 6 defensive starters with 17 letterman lost from a (9-4) 3A Div. II Regional playoff team.  Overall Strength (defense), Strengths on offense (running back, kicker), Strengths on defense (defensive line, linebacker)
Manor  - Coach Don Cowan (44-42-0) at Manor and (172-91-4) Overall, Offense (Spread), Defense (27), returns 15 letterman 8 offensive 6 defensive starters with 11 letterman lost from a (10-3) 3A Div. I Quarterfinal playoff team.  Overall Strength (offense), Strengths on offense (running back, receiver, offensive line), Strengths on defense (defensive back, punter).  Notes from the Coach: We return two of the top three receivers and our RB that averaged 8.5 yards a carry before a season ending injury in game 6.  We also return most of our offensive line, if QB can throw as well as last year, we could be much better.  Must replace one of our three linebackers and most of our defensive line.  Defense could be much weaker early in the season.
Rockdale  - Coach Robby Clark, Offense (Spread), Defense (Multiple 7), returns 17 letterman 4 offensive 5 defensive starters with 16 letterman lost from a (6-5) 3A Div. II Bi-district playoff team.  Overall Strength (defense), Strengths on offense (receiver), Strengths on defense (defensive back).  Notes from the Coach: This is a very competitive district with several teams capable of making the playoffs, with a couple of them recently going several rounds.  We are expecting good things.  We feel like we are returning a solid bunch on defense and that will be our strong side.  The key will be how fast we pick up on the new offense.
Smithville  - Coach Chris Flowers (0-20-0) at Smithville and (48-61-0) Overall, Offense (Wing T), Defense (4-3), returns 24 letterman 7 offensive 5 defensive starters with 10 letterman lost from a (0-10) team.  Strengths on offense (offensive line), Strengths on defense (defensive back).  Notes from the Coach: Team goal is to win 5 games.  Last year several games slipped away in the fourth quarter.  Added depth should help this year.
