Team Outlook
Cuero - Coach Mark Reeve (9-2-0) at Cuero and (109-26-4) Overall, returns 18 letterman 8 offensive 4 defensive starters with 18 letterman lost from a (9-2) 3A Div. I Bi-district playoff team.
Edna  - Coach Mike Menefee (19-17-0) at Edna and (19-17-0) Overall, returns 19 letterman 7 offensive 7 defensive starters with 4 letterman lost from a (5-6) 3A Div. II Bi-district playoff team.
Gonzales  - Coach Bruce Salmon (12-9-0) at Gonzales and (12-9-0) Overall, Offense (Flex I), Defense (50), returns 24 letterman 7 offensive 7 defensive starters with 17 letterman lost from a (5-5) team.  Overall Strength (both offense and defense), Strengths on defense (linebacker, cornerback).  Notes from the Coach: We will be young but a lot of them have playing experience.  Our kids are much stronger this year which will be a big help.  The district will be tough again.  We are looking for Nic Crozier to step up and lead this offense at QB.
Hallettsville  - Coach Kyle Taylor (25-26-0) at Hallettsville and (80-48-0) Overall, returns 16 letterman 5 offensive 5 defensive starters with 16 letterman lost from a (7-4) 3A Div. II Bi-district playoff team.
Luling  - Coach Jeff Rochat (26-15-0) at Luling and (26-15-0) Overall, Offense (I Multiple), Defense (Split), returns 12 letterman 4 offensive 7 defensive starters with 15 letterman lost from a (5-5) team.  Overall Strength (defense), Strengths on offense (offensive line), Strengths on defense (defensive line).  Notes from the Coach: We are going to count on a bunch of good but inexperienced players who are going to have to grow up fast.  We have a touch non-district schedule that should prepare us for district.  If we can stay healthy and our QB comes though for us, we should have a shot at the playoffs.
Yoakum - Coach Jessie Crow (62-30-1) at Yoakum and (132-89-5) Overall, Offense (Multiple I), Defense (Split 6), returns 27 letterman 7 offensive 6 defensive starters with 9 letterman lost from a (8-4) 3A Div. II Area playoff team.  Strengths on offense (offensive line), Strengths on defense (linebacker).  Notes from the Coach: more depth and experience than last year team; lack of speed could be a major concern; consistency will be a must to utilize our experience.
