Team Outlook
Alta Loma Santa Fe - Coach Joe Krauskopf (18-31-0) at Alta Loma Santa Fe and (18-31-0) Overall, Offense (Option), Defense (Multiple Split), returns 31 letterman 9 offensive 9 defensive starters with 12 letterman lost from a (1-9) team.  Overall Strength (defense), Strengths on offense (quarterback, running back), Strengths on defense (defensive line linebacker).  Notes from the Coach: The 2004 Indians should be back on the hunt for a playoff spot.  The defense was very quick and aggressive like the playoff units 2 year ago.  Offensively, we will have to ground it out behind a big solid offensive line.
Channelview - Coach John B. Launius (6-14-0) at Channelview and (6-14-0) Overall, returns 20 letterman 6 offensive 6 defensive starters with 15 letterman lost from a (5-5) team. 
Dickinson  - Coach Warren Trahan (23-18-0) at Dickinson and (151-83-5) Overall, returns 15 letterman 3 offensive 3 defensive starters with 10 letterman lost from a (4-6) team. 
Friendswood  - Coach Steve Van Meter (82-52-1) at Friendswood and (82-52-1) Overall, Offense (Spread), Defense (4-4), returns 24 letterman 3 offensive 7 defensive starters with 32 letterman lost from a (6-5) 4A Div. I Bi-district playoff team.  Overall Strength (defense), Strengths on offense (quarterback), Strengths on defense (linebacker).  Note from the Coach: We have young inexperienced kids that will have to develop.  QB position will be a battle with 3 strong candidates.  We will also be looking for a running back to step up and win the position.
La Marque  - Coach Bryan Erwin (27-3-0) at La Marque and (84-30-0) Overall, Offense (4 Wide No huddle), Defense (3-4), returns 18 letterman 2 offensive 5 defensive starters with 42 letterman lost from a (16-0) 4A Div. II State Champion playoff team.  Overall Strength (defense), Strengths on offense (running back), Strengths on defense (cornerback, defensive back).  Notes from the Coach: We will be a young team, must replace (9-off/ 6-def) starters. JV went 9-1 last year.  Backups saw a great amount of time in 13 games.  The team will be very athletic, coach able, and competitive.  They will compete with anyone.  Eight - 3 year starters returning from a 2002 quarterfinal and state champion in 2003.  Our underclassmen have played in 30 games the last 2 seasons.  Tradition will lead us into 2004. Must replace 4 of 5 OL, QB, and 4 receivers, no replacing 8 Div. I athletes.  Could have as many as 5 sophomore starters.  The defense will be undersized.  We will have many players in different roles.  It will be tough replacing all that we lost.
Texas City  - Coach Tim Finn (20-10-0) at Texas City and (20-10-0) Overall, Offense (Multiple I), Defense (Weak Eagle), returns 30 letterman 5 offensive 3 defensive starters with 23 letterman lost from a (8-3) 4A Div. II Bi-district playoff team.  Overall Strength (defense), Strengths on offense (running back, kicker), Strengths on defense (defensive line, cornerback, punter).  Notes from the Coach: Offensive skill positions are returning with the exception of a QB.  Must completely replace and rebuild OL.  Should be improved throwing the ball.  Must find receivers that are consistent catching the ball.  The backfield is strong and talented.  Defense - front 7 will have experience. Must develop some young but talented kids in the secondary. Kicker (all-district) and punter should be improved.
