Team Outlook
Tyler John Tyler - Coach Kelvin Ratliff (4-16-0) at Tyler John Tyler and (4-16-0) Overall, returns 14 letterman 3 offensive 5 defensive starters with 25 letterman lost from a (1-9) team. 
Longview - Coach John King (0-0-0) at Longview  and (7-4-0) Overall, Offense (Pro I), Defense (4-2-5), returns 17 letterman 5 offensive 7 defensive starters with 40 letterman lost from a (7-4) 5A Div. II Bi-district playoff team.  Overall Strength (defense), Strengths on offense (receiver), Strengths on defense (defensive back).  Notes from the Coach: This years team will have an abundance of speed with several very talented skill players.  The defense will have to lead the team as we try to develop chemistry on offense with an inexperienced offensive line.
Mesquite - Coach Steve Halpin (62-39-0) at Mesquite and (62-39-0) Overall, Offense (Wishbone-Option), Defense (4-4), returns 28 letterman 6 offensive 3 defensive starters with 26 letterman lost from a (6-4) team.  Overall Strength (offense), Strengths on offense (quarterback, running back), Strengths on defense (defensive line, defensive back).  Notes from the Coach: Offensively - tremendous speed at skill spots.  We have a very explosive offensive line that has experience.  8 new starters on defense - DL and LB's must come through along with finding a new kicker and punter.
Mesquite John Horn - Coach Don Payne (9-11-0) at Mesquite John Horn and (58-49-1) Overall, Offense (Wing - T), Defense (Multiple), returns 29 letterman 7 offensive 2 defensive starters with 30 letterman lost from a (6-4) team.  Overall Strength (offense), Strengths on offense (offensive line), Strengths on defense (Speed).  Notes from the Coach: This year's team could be stronger on offense.  Four out of the five interior linemen return and are very good.  Josh Davis was all district at tackle.  Mon Williams moves from running back to fullback and is explosive.  Stephen Schwark is projected at QB - strong arm and a tough competitor.  Defensively we need to replace 9 starters.  Cordero Moore at DE and Sedrick Knowlton at corner are the only returning starters.  Jake Potter started 3 games at outside linebacker and should contribute greatly.
North Mesquite - Coach Steve Bragg (20-12-0) at North Mesquite and (41-17-0) Overall, Offense (Spread -shotgun), Defense (50), returns 32 letterman 2 offensive 3 defensive starters with 37 letterman lost from a (4-6) team.  Overall Strength (both offense and defense), Strengths on offense (receiver), Strengths on defense (linebacker, cornerback, punter).  Notes from the Coach: Our talent base will be improved.  We had 9 straight years of being in the playoffs until last year.  We have changed offenses from the option to shotgun spread to make better use of our QB. 
Rockwall - Coach Mark Elam (26-34-0) at Rockwall and (141-71-8) Overall, returns 44 letterman 6 offensive 6 defensive starters with 42 letterman lost from a (3-7) team.  Overall Strength (defense), Strengths on offense (quarterback), Strengths on defense (linebacker).  Notes from the Coach: QB Brett Clow (1007 yds passing), RB-FS Everette Riley (846 yds rushing, 3 TD's in just 4 games), Matt Cefalu (87 tackles, 2 ints), Josh Renfrow (5 ints, 2 for TD's), C Austin Pennington, and LB Cooper Elam return to try and better last year's 3-7 campaign.
Tyler Lee - Coach Mike Owens (67-29-0) at Tyler Lee and (149-79-2) Overall, Offense (I - Back), Defense (4-3), returns 29 letterman 6 offensive 3 defensive starters with 38 letterman lost from a (10-3) 5A Div. I Quarterfinal playoff team.  Overall Strength (offense), Strengths on offense (quarterback, running back, receiver, offensive line, kicker), Strengths on defense (linebacker).  Notes from the Coach: If our defense comes around early, we should be ok.  We are playing a very tough early season.  I believe we will be better on offense if we stay healthy.
