Team Outlook
C/S A&M Consolidated  - Coach Jim Slaughter (26-19-0) at C/S A&M Consolidated and (152-82-1) Overall, Offense (Multiple Wing T), Defense (Multiple 4-3), returns 21 letterman 2 offensive 7 defensive starters with 29 letterman lost from a (7-4) 5A Div. II Bi-district playoff team.  Overall Strength (defense), Strengths on offense (kicker), Strengths on defense (defensive line, linebacker, defensive back, punter).  Notes from the Coach: We were short on depth last year especially in the secondary.  We have more depth this coming year and more talent on defense over all.  Last year kids played great and did better than we thought.  This year's QB must get better to replace last year's.  We will have talent on offense, but we will be young.
Belton - Coach Jay Warrick (45-34-0) at Belton and (99-71-3) from a (9-2) 5A Div. II Bi-district playoff team.
Bryan - Coach Marvin Sedberry (0-0-0) at Bryan  and (124-78-2) Overall, returns 25 letterman 2 offensive 2 defensive starters with 30 letterman lost from a (3-7) team.
Copperas Cove - Coach Jack Welch (73-34-1) at Copperas Cove and (115-62-1) Overall, Offense (Multiple Pro), Defense (Multiple 4-3), returns 15 letterman 6 offensive 4 defensive starters with 19 letterman lost from a (6-4) team.  Overall Strength (offense), Strengths on offense (running back), Strengths on defense (defensive back).  Notes from the Coach: Offensive line returns along with the RB.  We will be a much stronger senior class than last years.  Replacement for QB Welch appears to be Brent Garner who is more than able.
Killeen Harker Heights - Coach Ross Rogers (35-12-0) at Killeen Harker Heights and (195-72-8) Overall, Offense (Multiple I / Shot Gun), Defense (50 / Weak Eagle), returns 27 letterman 9 offensive 7 defensive starters with 42 letterman lost from a (8-3) 4A Div. II Bi-district playoff team.  Overall Strength (offense), Strengths on offense (quarterback, running back, receiver, offensive line), Strengths on defense (linebacker, cornerback, defensive back).  Notes from the Coach: Offense should be as good as we've been with a big offensive line, speed at receivers, backs are good, and the QB can run and throw.  If we could have stayed in 4A, we would have been ranked.  Defense is a little larger and more physical with 4 out of the 5 defensive backs returning and the leading tackler.
Killeen Shoemaker - Coach Ken Gray (9-31-0) at Killeen Shoemaker and (96-108-2) Overall, returns 16 letterman 5 offensive 7 defensive starters with 29 letterman lost from a (4-6) team.
Temple  - Coach Tam Hollingshead (8-4-0) at Temple and (51-8-2) Overall, Offense (Wing-T), Defense (4-3), returns 25 letterman 3 offensive 2 defensive starters with 30 letterman lost from a (8-4) 5A Div. I Regional playoff team.  Overall Strength (defense), Strengths on offense (running back), Strengths on defense (defensive back).  Notes from the Coach:  This year's team will be a tough hard-nosed team that will play hard and be in a lot of ball games that they should not be in.  The offensive line will have to step up in order to be a good offense.  The question on the defensive side will be the linebackers.  We will be a competitive team.
Waco - Coach Johnny Tusa (144-64-2) at Waco and (180-102-4) Overall, returns 16 letterman 4 offensive 6 defensive starters with 21 letterman lost from a (6-4) team.
