Team Outlook
Irving Nimitz  - Coach Mike Farda (200-130-8) at Irving Nimitz and (200-130-8) Overall, Offense (Spread Wing), Defense (4-3), returns 23 letterman 9 offensive 10 defensive starters with 12 letterman lost from a (1-9) team.  Overall Strengths - experience and defense; Main weakness- size and speed; Strengths on offense - quarterback, receiver; Strengths on defense - defensive line, linebacker.
South Grand Prairie  - Coach David E. Fisher (17-14-0) at South Grand Prairie and (98-65-0) Overall, Offense (I-Back/Spread), Defense (3-3-5), returns 9 letterman 5 offensive 5 defensive starters with 8 letterman lost from a (9-2) Div. I Bi-district team.  Team Strength - 5 returning starters on defense, team speed.  Team Weakness - lost 5 of 6 skilled on offense (QB,TB,TE,RECS), and overall lack of team size.
Coppell - Coach Mike Fuller (32-16-0) at Coppell  and (32-16-0) Overall, Offense (Multiple), Defense (Split), returns 20 letterman 3 offensive 5 defensive starters with 40 letterman lost from a (9-3) 5A Div. I Regional playoff team.  Overall Strength (offense), Strengths on offense (quarterback, running back), Strengths on defense (defensive line, linebacker).  Notes from the Coach: We have a great QB and outstanding RB's returning.  Our 3rd leading receiver and 2nd leading rusher returns.  We will be inexperienced early but should be pretty competitive be mid-season.  Defensively, we will need to replace our entire secondary.  All positions are wide open right now.
Grand Prairie - Coach Gary Bartel, Offense (Multiple I), Defense (3-4), returns 29 letterman 2 offensive 7 defensive starters with 30 letterman lost from a (6-4) team.  Overall Strength (defense), Strengths on offense (running back, receiver), Strengths on defense (linebacker, defensive back).  Notes from the Coach: We will have a great attitude and work ethic.  We will play hard every game to make up for our lack of experience.  There are some talented players at the skill positions on both sides of the ball.  The kicking game will be solid with Mike Clay (K) and Justin Moon (P).  Our offensive line must come through for us.  They will be led by Matt Guyden and Derrick Brouhard.  The linemen must step up on defense.  They are led by Donavan Carroll, Justin Brown, and Trace Magee.
Irving - Coach Jim Bennett (107-100-4) at Irving  and (130-108-4) Overall, Offense (Pro I), Defense (4-3), returns 15 letterman 3 offensive 1 defensive starters with 21 letterman lost from a (10-4) 5A Div. II Quarterfinal playoff team.  Overall Strength (offense), Strengths on offense (quarterback, running back, receiver, kicker), Strengths on defense (defensive back).  Notes from the Coach: This year’s team will be very young and will need to grow up quickly. The skilled kids may be as talented as we've had in the last 20 years.  Our OL/DL will be very thin and will need to step up.  QB Richard Young could be the key to a successful year.  He has a big time arm and is extremely tough. The defense will be young.
Irving MacArthur - Coach David Beaty (14-8-0) at Irving MacArthur  and (20-12-0) Overall, Offense (Spread), Defense (4-2-5), returns 29 letterman 6 offensive 7 defensive starters with 23 letterman lost from a (7-4) 5A Div. II Bi-district playoff team.  Overall Strength (defense), Strengths on offense (quarterback, receiver), Strengths on defense (linebacker, defensive back).  Notes from the Coach: Returning a QB that threw for 1700 yards in 195 attempts and only three ints.  We have a receiver returning in Jeff Moturi (39 catches).  The defense looks to continue its dominance in district play where they finished ranked # 1 in the district in 2002.  With the return of 2-time defensive district player of the year SS La Shawn Vation, The defense looks stronger than ever.
HEB Euless Trinity - Coach Steve Lineweaver (39-9-0) at HEB Euless Trinity  and (123-22-2) Overall, returns 20 letterman 6 offensive 2 defensive starters with 40 letterman lost from a (9-2) 5A Div. I Bi-district playoff team.
HEB Hurst L.D. Bell - Coach Ross Dodson (14-25-0) at HEB Hurst L.D. Bell  and (94-52-0) Overall, returns 30 letterman 9 offensive 4 defensive starters with 40 letterman lost from a (5-5) team.
