Team Outlook

O'Donnell Screamin' Eagles (Black, Gold) - Head Coach Rick Price -  (24-18-0) @ O'Donnell and  (111-47-1) Overall, Offense (Shotgun), Defense (4-3), returns 16 letterman 10 offensive 11 defensive starters with “NA” letterman lost from a (5-5) team.   O’Donnell returns (5) 1st All-District players.  Notes from the Coach: Our expectations for the 2005 football team are high.  With 16 letterman, 10 offensive and 11 defensive starters returning from 2004 we feel we should field a strong unit in 2005.  Our offensive production should be good again.  The key to the upcoming season will be improvement on defense.  Defensive improvement should occur as all of our starters return and this will be our second year of running a 4-3 defense.  I expect our defense to be much stronger this year.

 

Morton Indians (Gold, Black) - Head Coach Don Rives -  (25-17-0) @ Morton and  (49-28-0) Overall, Offense (Spread), Defense (50), returns 13 letterman 5 offensive 9 defensive starters with 8 letterman lost from a (11-1) Area finalist team.  Morton returns (7) 1st All-District players.  JV Record (4-0-2).  Overall Strength - defense, Offensive strength - running back, Defensive strength - linebacker.   Notes from the Coach: Defense looks to be strong with 9 starters returning.  We need to find 2 CB's.  The offense will be without Calvin Johnson for the first time in 4 years.  All receivers graduated.  Brandon Eubanks is moving to QB from WR and will team with James Cornish (District MVP) in the backfield.  The offensive line has to carry the team if we are to be successful.

 

Seagraves Eagles (Red, Black) - Head Coach Cory Barnes -  (9-4-0) @ Seagraves and  (9-4-0) Overall, Offense (Wishbone), Defense (5-2), returns 15 letterman 7 offensive 6 defensive starters with “NA” letterman lost from a (9-4) Regional playoff team.  Seagraves returns (3) 1st All-District players. JV Record (2-8).

 

Sundown Roughnecks (Red, White, Blue) - Head Coach Chad Terry -  (13-8-0) @ Sundown and  (26-17-0) Overall, Offense (Spread Bone), Defense ( 4-3), returns 14 letterman 5 offensive 6 defensive starters with 7 letterman lost from a (7-3) team.  Sundown returns (3) 1st All-District players.  JV Record (5-4-1).  Overall Strength - defense, Offensive strength - quarterback, receiver, Defensive strength - linebacker, defensive back.  Notes from the Coach: Very young and competitive, our strength will be our strength and work ethic.  We could surprise a few people if young offensive line comes around.

 

Plains Cowboys (Black, Gold) - Head Coach Blake McWhirter -  (6-14-0) @ Plains and  (6-14-0) Overall, Offense (NA), Defense (NA), returns 9 letterman 4 offensive 6 defensive starters with 9 letterman lost from a (4-6) team.  Plains return (2) 1st All-District players.
