Team Outlook
Donna - Coach Dave Evans (50-28-0) at Donnaand (92-60-1) Overall, Offense (Pro I), Defense (Split), returns 18 letterman 6 offensive 6 defensive starters with 35 letterman lost from a (7-4) 5A Div. II Bi-district playoff team.  Overall Strength (defense), Strengths on offense (quarterback), Strengths on defense (defensive line).  Notes from the Coach:  We expect another competitive and successful season.  In addition we expect to make it seven straight years in the playoffs.  Although we lost several offensive and defensive players, we feel that our young players will step up. 
Edinburg - Coach Robert Vela (53-28-0) at Edinburg and (119-56-3) Overall, Offense (Wing T), Defense (Split 6), returns 31 letterman 5 offensive 4 defensive starters with 28 letterman lost from a (9-2) 4A Div. I Regional playoff team.  Strengths on offense (quarterback, running back, offensive line), Strengths on defense (defensive line, outside backers).  Notes from the Coach:  With the veteran of QB Anthony De La Vina and RB Jesse Galvan along with the returning offensive line starters, we should be able to be balanced on both passing and running. 
Edinburg Economedes - Coach Oscar Salinas (11-30-0) at Edinburg Economedes and (11-30-0) Overall, Offense (I), Defense (4-2-5), returns 20 letterman 4 offensive 4 defensive starters with 40 letterman lost from a (8-3) 5A Div. II Area playoff team.  Overall Strength (defense), Strengths on offense (running back, kicker), Strengths on defense (defensive line, linebacker).  Notes from the Coach: The team needs to stay healthy.  The offensive and defensive lines must mature.
Edinburg North - Coach Mario R. Lopez (19-22-0) at Edinburg North and (19-22-0) Overall, Offense (2 Backs), Defense (3-3 stack), returns 15 letterman 3 offensive 1 defensive starters with 30 letterman lost from a (2-7) team.  Overall Strength (offense), Strengths on offense (receiver), Strengths on defense (defensive line).  Notes from the Coach: Rebuilding year because the team is very young.
PSJA  - Coach Mel Rios (10-10-0) at PSJA and (10-10-0) Overall, Offense (Wing T), Defense (4-3), returns 25 letterman 8 offensive 6 defensive starters with 17 letterman lost from a (6-4) 4A Div. II Bi-district playoff team.  Overall Strength (offense), Strengths on offense (running back, offensive line), Strengths on defense (defensive line).  Notes from the Coach: In order for us to have success, we're going to have to mature quickly and get better in the areas left vacant this year especially at QB.  Our strong point is our offensive and defensive lines.  We have almost everyone back.  We need to stay healthy and injury free.  We expect to compete and expect to be at the top.
PSJA North - Coach Orlando J. Garcia (39-26-0) at PSJA North and (39-26-0) Overall, returns 7 letterman 1 offensive 5 defensive starters with 16 letterman lost from a (11-2) 5A Div. II Regional Finalist playoff team.  Notes from the Coach: We must play consistently on offense and defense. We have to improve every week.  We have skilled athletes at key positions.  Weakness will be a lack of experience on the offensive line and backfield.
Weslaco - Coach Jim Hite (32-22-1) at Weslaco and (71-68-2) Overall, Offense (Multiple I), Defense (Split 4), returns 15 letterman 6 offensive 5 defensive starters with 23 letterman lost from a (0-9) team.  Overall Strength (offense), Strengths on offense (offensive line), Strengths on defense (linebacker).  Notes from the Coach: New offensive and defensive coordinators, positive expectations come from 4 returning offensive linemen. Defense will be much improved.
